A Personal Note From Dr. Perlmutter

Dear Viewer,

Alzheimer’s has reached epidemic proportions with more than 6 million Americans having been diagnosed with this disease. Worldwide, over 40 million individuals have been given this diagnosis – Alzheimer’s disease, a disease for which we have no meaningful treatment.

There’s a common misconception that whether or not we get Alzheimer’s disease is something that’s out of our hands. But that is absolutely a misconception. Our actions today, the choices that we make, pave the way for our brain’s destiny in terms of health, functionality, and risk for this disease.

I’ve been studying the brain virtually my entire adult life. I am absolutely convinced that, by and large, Alzheimer’s is a preventable disease. This is what our most well respected mainstream research is telling us. Because of this, I set out to interview the best experts across the United States to gather their incredible knowledge as it relates to Alzheimer’s prevention.

Each and every one of us can drastically improve our brain health and disease resistance by implementing the simple recommendations revealed in this documentary series. It’s time to embrace the notion of preventive medicine, specifically as it relates to brain health.

And this series will show you how.

Yours in health,

David Perlmutter, MD
Board-certified neurologist and Fellow, American College of Nutrition
